Art restoration

There are unforeseen situations when something can go wrong. For example, a broken piece of a front tooth can ruin not only the mood, but also interfere with smiling openly. And it doesn't matter why it happened. It is important to find a way to urgently remedy the situation.

Modern possibilities of dentistry make it easy to cope with this task. In some cases, it will only take a few hours to visit a specialist. And after the visit, no one will even notice that something happened to you.

Art restoration Is an anatomically correct restoration of the tooth while maintaining all the aesthetic and functional properties of the tooth

Such restoration is also called “aesthetic” or “cosmetic”, since the ultimate goal is to achieve high aesthetics of the tooth. The restoration of teeth is used to restore the shape and color of the tooth, while the restored teeth will not differ from healthy ones.

The procedure is completely painless, and in case of increased sensitivity of the teeth, anesthesia can be used. With this type of restoration, the teeth are exposed to minimal impact, compared to classical prosthetics. Another advantage is that the price of artistic dental restoration is significantly lower than prosthetics.

Indications for aesthetic dental restoration:

  • Caries on most of the tooth surface
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Uneven teeth
  • Chipped part of a tooth or destruction of more than half of the tooth
  • Enamel defects

In artistic restoration of teeth, two methods can be used: direct and indirect.

Direct dental restoration method

do after

For direct restorations, light-curing composites (photopolymers) or glass-ionomer cement are used. Tooth restoration is carried out directly in the patient's oral cavity.

The indisputable advantage of this method is that the restoration is performed in one visit to the dentist. If necessary, in standard cases, several teeth can be restored in one day - it can take from 15 minutes to an hour to restore one tooth (depending on the complexity of the case).

Indirect dental restoration method

Indirect dental restoration is performed using veneers.

Veneers are thin porcelain or composite plates made in the dental laboratory to replace the tooth layer. Unlike crowns, veneers do not cover the entire tooth, but only the anterior part.

Such restoration is carried out in several stages:

  • preparation for restoration - if necessary, treatment is carried out, the tooth is filled according to indications
  • taking an impression, making a veneer from an impression
  • veneer installation

Restoration of teeth using veneers is effective when there is an uneven tooth surface or an inappropriate color, when other methods, for example whiteningare not allowed.

thanks veneers it is possible to restore a perfect smile, but this method cannot be used with an improper bite, when doing extreme sports (for example, boxing) or missing chewing teeth.

If necessary, veneers can be combined with crowns - when veneers are placed on some teeth, and on other crowns, but here it is important that they are made of the same material.
